 Linalyl acetate: > 20%
 Linalool: > 8% 

Plant Description: Bergamot, scientifically known as Citrus bergamia, is a small citrus tree that originated in southern Italy. It features glossy green leaves, fragrant white flowers, and round, yellow-green fruits resembling small oranges. Bergamot thrives in warm, sunny climates and is prized for its aromatic peel, which yields the highly valued bergamot essential oil.

History of Oil: 
Bergamot essential oil has a storied history that spans centuries. Derived from the Citrus bergamia tree’s peel, it originated in southern Italy and gained prominence for its distinct aroma and therapeutic properties. 

Throughout history, bergamot oil was actively traded along Mediterranean trade routes. Its popularity soared during the Renaissance era when it became a prized ingredient in perfumery and herbal medicine. 

In the 18th century, bergamot oil gained further recognition when it was used to flavor Earl Grey tea, a blend named after the British Prime Minister, Charles Grey. This contributed to its widespread use in culinary applications.
